Orestone Manor Hotel was the former home of the acclaimed narrative painter, John Callcott Horsley RA, best known as the designer of the first Christmas card.

Format for the Evening

Judging from previous years, we anticipate the format of the evening to be one of informality with speed of service suited to your own particular wishes.

Dress code is entirely up to you – last year, it ranged from Black Tie through casual informal to Fancy Dress with special appearances from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pirates of the Caribbean, Team Tango and a Wedding Couple in traditional regalia.

Your table will be available for you from 8 pm onwards (well, until about 1.00 am anyway) but we would ask you to commence your meal before 10 pm.

During the course of your multi-course meal, you may wish to take a break and stroll around the outer decks to view the shore-based festivities from a comfortable distance. Alternatively our Water Taxi will be at your service should you wish to go ashore and mingle directly with the fancy-dressed revellers. On your return, you simply carry on where you left off.

Come Midnight, the Chef and staff will no doubt break into unsuitable song but please be assured that this will be of short duration.
